Montse Costa, PhD
Director of the Plasma Proteins Research at the R&D Grifols

Montse Costa finished her studies on Chemistry at the University of Barcelona in 1993. It was then when she started working in the Biochemistry sector, developing a research project in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department of the University of Barcelona, until she obtained her Degree in 1995.

In 2000 she received her PhD in Cellular Biology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with a research project on Autoimmune Hepatitis, carried out in the Immunology Unit of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona.

Previously, in 1999, she had joined the R&D team of Grifols, focusing on research projects on albumin, immunoglobulins and alpha-1 antitrypsin. Currently, she is Director of Plasma Proteins Research of the Grifols Bioscience Research Group, where she is in charge of leading Alzheimer’s Disease research.
