Joaquín Dopazo, PhD, is a leading data scientist and Head of the BioAIData Platform at the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC), collaborating with CRG, HMRIB, and BSC. He is also a researcher at the Fundación Instituto Hospital del Mar de Investigaciones Médicas (IMIM), group leader at the CIBER de Enfermedades Raras (CIBERER), and a corresponding member of the Royal National Academy of Medicine.

He has held senior leadership roles directing computational biology departments in major academic institutions (CNIO, CIPF, FPS, IBiS) and in industry (Glaxo Wellcome). His research focuses on the analysis of genomic and clinical data through systems biology and artificial intelligence, aiming to advance precision medicine and drug discovery.

Dr. Dopazo has authored over 380 peer-reviewed publications, with an h-index of 82, and has actively contributed to numerous national and international research consortia and initiatives.
