
Dr. Alma Ghirelli is a neurologist at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan and a PhD candidate in Molecular Medicine, Neuroscience and Experimental Neurology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
She completed her medical degree and neurology residency at the same institution and holds board certification from the European Board of Neurology.
Dr. Ghirelli has conducted research at the Neuroimaging Research Unit of San Raffaele and at the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN, USA), where she worked on neurodegenerative disease biomarkers and imaging-pathology correlations.
Her clinical and research activities focus on neurodegenerative diseases, with particular interest in frontotemporal dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Her current clinical work is focused on the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease with monoclonal antibodies. She is involved in neuroimaging research, including the use of MRI and PET techniques, and the application of computational approaches to study disease mechanisms and progression.
