The Board of Trustees of Fundació ACE, Catalan Institute of Applied Neurosciences, today, World Alzheimer’s Day, wants to send the following statement to the public:
- Our task, since 1991, is the preservation of the memory of healthy people, of people who present subjective memory complaints and people affected by dementia, and particularly those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
- The preservation of individual memories will nourish collective memory.
- In this sense, we want to express our rejection of the authoritarian measures that have been taken and are being taken against the rights and freedoms of citizens, and especially of public servants.
- Express our support for the legitimate self-government institutions of Catalonia, guarantors of the rights and memory of all.
We want that at this time in the history of Catalonia, the general sentiment of the majority of the Catalan people can be freely and peacefully expressed.
