Barcelona, July 1, 2026.– Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona returns with La Nit de l’Alzheimer, its annual charity event, aimed at raising social awareness about the importance of continuing to drive research in the fight against Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

In its 11th edition, La Nit de l’Alzheimer will take place in person on October 1, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., at El Palace Hotel in Barcelona. Charity tickets to attend the gala are now available on the event’s official website, where contributions to Row 0 can also be made.

La Nit de l’Alzheimer serves as a meeting point for society, the scientific community, the cultural world, and individuals committed to fighting this disease. The initiative aims to give a voice to the prevention, early diagnosis, treatment, research, and support activities led by Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona, while highlighting the need for continued progress in care for people with dementia and their caregiving networks.

Each year, the gala brings together music, culture, art, and humor for a charitable evening dedicated to supporting the projects of Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona. In addition to general charity tickets, the event offers various ways to collaborate, such as Row 0 donations, tickets for a charity product raffle, and other fundraising initiatives.

“Through La Nit de l’Alzheimer, we want to draw society’s attention to the importance of driving Alzheimer’s research, a condition affecting an increasing number of individuals and families. Today, it is more necessary than ever to speak up in favor of prevention, early diagnosis, and the need to keep advancing research so that one day we can say we have won the battle against this disease,” says Dr. Mercè Boada, neurologist, co-founder, and medical director of Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona.

For her part, Miren Jone Gurrutxaga, CEO of Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona, emphasizes that “scientific research has made remarkable progress in recent decades, but there is still a long way to go. Every contribution is a step forward toward a better understanding of Alzheimer’s mechanisms, the development of more effective treatments, the improvement of early diagnostic tools, and support for affected families.”

Since its first edition, La Nit de l’Alzheimer has established itself as one of the main Alzheimer’s charity events in Barcelona. Year after year, the gala has helped rally support and resources to propel research, innovation, and support projects for people with dementia and their caregivers.

In recent editions, La Nit de l’Alzheimer has strengthened its role as a bridge connecting science, culture, and social commitment. In 2023 and 2024, gala proceeds went to a virtual reality project for cognitive stimulation in people with Alzheimer’s, spearheaded by Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona. In 2025, marking its 10th anniversary edition, the event focused on early detection and the impact of the disease on younger generations and future caregivers.

Alzheimer’s, a global challenge

Alzheimer’s is a social and healthcare disease that impacts all areas of society, affecting the diagnosed individual, their family, and their immediate network. It requires a comprehensive strategy that accounts for this broad reality by integrating research, prevention, early diagnosis, clinical care, and family support.

Currently, it is the most common form of dementia and is characterized by the progressive onset of symptoms such as memory loss and impairments in language, spatial and temporal orientation, and other cognitive functions. Worldwide, dementia affects millions of people and its prevalence continues to grow, reinforcing the need to invest in research, prevention, early diagnosis, and new care strategies.
