Dr. Sergi Valero is deputy director of the Research Unit and responsible for the Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona artificial intelligence program.

His basic and applied research covers areas of Neurology, Psychology and Psychiatry.

His specific activity is developed in biostatistics and applied research methodology in the health sciences, being co-author of more than 70 scientific articles.

Currently, he focuses his research on the processing of spontaneous speech as a marker of Alzheimer’s disease in its prodromomic or preclinical stages, forming part of the TARTAGLIA federated network, within the R&D Missions in Artificial Intelligence program of the Spain Digital 2025 agenda and on the impact of neuropsychiatric symptoms on the evolution of the disease.
