
Oscar Sotolongo holds a degree in Physics from the University of Havana and a PhD in Physical Sciences from UNED. He has extensive experience in complex systems and medical physics.
He began working at Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona in 2012, with the responsibility of developing Neuroimaging analysis for MRI and PET. Since then, he has carried out tasks ranging from setting up a computational cluster, developing neuroimaging and bioinformatics analysis workflows, to managing clinical data interactions.
He is currently responsible for the neuroimaging platform and computational workflows, and actively collaborates in bioinformatics research. In addition, he oversees the maintenance of the department’s high-performance computing (HPC) capabilities and provides parallel computing support to other professionals. Finally, he develops the necessary software to integrate all these tasks into parallelized application environments.
