Montserrat Alegret
Director of the Clinical Neuropsychology Department at the Diagnostic Unit

Dr. Montse Alegret is a neuropsychologist. She earned her degree in Psychology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and obtained her PhD from the University of Barcelona.

She currently serves as Director of the Clinical Neuropsychology Department at the Diagnostic Unit of Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona, where she develops her clinical, research, and teaching activities, and participates in the AI and Big Data program applied to Neurology.

She has extensive experience in diagnosis, clinical management, neuropsychological evaluation, cognitive stimulation and research into neurodegenerative diseases.

She has published more than 100 articles in specialized journals of recognized international prestige, as well as 4 book chapters in dementia manuals. She has participated in several projects on the early stages of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s, Huntington’s or Alzheimer’s.

She is currently part of the research team of national and international projects (IMPaCT, FACEmemory-PRS, FACEHBI, ALI, BIOFACE, NeuroScore, MOPEAD) on the early detection of cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease.

She is an associate editor of the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease, belongs to the editorial committee of the Iberoamerican Journal of Neuropsychology and is a reviewer of several international journals.
