Marta Rovira Bruna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Genetics from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2024) and a Master’s degree in Advanced Genetics from the same university (2025). During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a research assistant intern at the Centre for Ecological Research and Forestry Applications (CREAF), in Dr. Ribas’ laboratory for one year, where she gained experience in chemical-biological techniques and good laboratory practices.

During her master’s program, she focused her training on courses in Genetic Risk and Genomics, obtaining Highest Honors. She completed her internship at Ace, where she also conducted her master’s thesis titled “Evaluating the genetic risk of dementia in a memory clinic: an integrative overview of its process,” centered on assessing the genetic risk of dementia in the clinical setting of the foundation through the analysis of Polygenic Risk Scores (PRS).

Since September 2025, she has been part of the team as a research assistant intern. Her work focuses on laboratory support in activities related to sample reception and processing, as well as DNA extraction, mainly within the framework of the PMP-DEGESCO project. She also contributes to the reception, processing, and analysis of genetic data, including quality control procedures and analyses such as GWAS and PRS for various projects.
