Dr. Gemma Ortega holds a degree in Psychology from the Universitat Ramon Llull and completed her training in Clinical Neuropsychology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She has more than twenty years of experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and follow-up of individuals with cognitive impairment.

She is a member of the Diagnostic Unit team at the Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona, where she conducts neuropsychological evaluations and participates in interdisciplinary consensus meetings to ensure comprehensive and personalized care. In addition, she collaborates in the training of healthcare professionals at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya.

Her professional career began at the Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron, where she completed her PhD in Medicine in the field of cerebrovascular pathology and undertook a training fellowship at Rush University (Chicago), specializing in epilepsy.

She later focused her clinical practice on the field of dementia and cognitive prevention, further expanding her training in nutrition and healthcare management.
