Clàudia Olivé
Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona

Clàudia is part of the Genomics Program of the Research Unit at Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona as a predoctoral researcher.

She holds a degree in Biology from the University of Girona and a master’s degree in Neurosciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She completed a one-year research stay at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where she worked on the analysis of genomic data for the study of Alzheimer’s disease. She later completed a master’s degree in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, coinciding with her incorporation into Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona. She is currently a PhD candidate in the Genomics, Proteomics and Bioinformatics program at the University of Barcelona.

Her work focuses on the generation, processing and bioinformatic analysis of genetic data from both Ace and external collaborators, as well as on the subsequent drafting and publication of scientific articles. She currently coordinates the harmonization of genomic data (GWAS) and the FTD/DEGESCO project. She is a co-author of more than 20 scientific articles published in indexed international journals and presented at national and international conferences, and collaborates with the European Alzheimer & Dementia Biobank (EADB) and the Dementia Genetic Spanish Consortium (DEGESCO). Since 2024, she has received financial support from the competitive PFIS grant (Health Research Training Program), awarded by the Carlos III Health Institute, to carry out her doctoral thesis on genetic factors associated with neurodegenerative diseases.
