Ace Alzheimer Center collaborates in training future psychologists at UIC on dementias

On November 12, the last session of the block on Neuropsychology was taught at the Faculty of Psychology of the International University of Catalonia (UIC). Ace's collaboration in this subject is part of the organization's commitment to promote quality training in dementia.

Dr. Montse Alegret, head of Ace's Neuropsychology Unit with more than 20 years of experience in this field, led the session on “Subcortical Dementias”, a type of cognitive impairment that affects motor and behavioral functions. This class closed a series that also featured Drs. Ana Espinosa and Gemma Ortega, who addressed topics such as mild cognitive impairment and cerebrovascular pathology.

This cycle of sessions allows UIC students to obtain a comprehensive view of dementia from a clinical and scientific approach. Ace thus reaffirms its mission to train future professionals in the in-depth knowledge and multidisciplinary approach to dementias, preparing students to improve the diagnosis and treatment of these pathologies in their future clinical practice.

The Ace Diagnostic Unit serves about 9,000 people a year through comprehensive care and personalized support for people with cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's or other dementias.
